"Marciat" by Gary Hudson: Acrylic on Canvas 1970
August 4 – October 30
The Madison Artists Guild is proud to announce the opening of the third in the series THE XLG SHOW@TOWN 220 presenting GARY HUDSON: ART LIVES, WORKS FROM THE 70’S, CALIFORNIA AND NEW YORK. The show opens with a complimentary reception on August 4 at 6:30 pm at Town 220 Restaurant and Gallery, 220 W. Washington Street, Madison, GA 30650.
The works featured in this solo show have never been exhibited together and have not been seen in 30 years. These represent the finest of the paintings created in an extremely prolific and successful period in Hudson’s life. The work is large and full of energy and light; reflecting the environments in which the artist was living at the time and expressing the unbridled joy of painting.
The Guild invites you to join us at the wine reception where you’ll also enjoy the music of Athens musician Mark Maxwell from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Mark’s music adds the perfect musical accompaniment to the lyrical works of this important American artist. The show will be on view till October 30.
